AREA OF EXPERTISE
Children & families
When a child is struggling emotionally or behaviourally, the whole family feels it. Therapy offers a supportive space to understand what’s happening, strengthen coping and communication, and support a child’s development and wellbeing — with parents and caregivers included where appropriate.
COMMON SIGNS
When a child is communicating through behaviour.
Children often show distress through behaviour, mood, or changes in daily functioning. Some common signs include:
- Frequent outbursts, irritability, or intense emotional reactions
- Withdrawal, sadness, low confidence, or “shutting down”
- Anxiety, fearfulness, clinginess, or separation difficulty
- Sleep disruption, nightmares, or changes in appetite
- School difficulties: focus, motivation, performance, or attendance
- Behaviour changes after loss, trauma, bullying, or family transitions
- Conflict at home, ongoing tension, or difficulties with boundaries
- Social struggles: friendships, isolation, or frequent peer conflict
Therapy can help identify what your child needs and support the whole family system to feel steadier and more connected.
